Reservations
- __ Reserve campsite in advance, if possible

- __ Bags - Tent bag, grocery bags, etc.
- __ Cardboard boxes if needed

Lighting - Check batteries!
- __ Maglight - The larger, the better.
- __ Gas lantern (and/or electric)
- __ BIC lighter
- __ Matches (preferably water proof)
- __ Spare batteries and bulbs
- __ Spare lantern fuel and mantles
Shelter/Bedding
- __ Sleeping bag
- __ Space Blanket
- __ Ground Cloth - Tarp for big tents
- __ Mattress or pad - Inflator for air mattress
- __ Pillow
- __ Tent
- __ Camp axe or hammer to pound tent stakes
Medical
- __ Sunscreen
- __ Bug Repellent - Spray, Citronella Candle, etc.
- __ Poison Oak remedies - Special soap,
antihistamine creams.
- __ Allerest
- __ Tylenol, Advil, Aspirin
- __ Alka Seltzer, Maalox, Tums
- __ Antibiotics - Whatever you need. Micatin for
fungus, for example.
- __ Tweezers for splinters & ticks.
- __ Antiseptic, Band-Aids and bandages.
- __ First Aid Kit (may include all the above items)

Clothing

- __ Jacket - As weather dictates. Eskimo style,
mackintosh, windbreaker, etc.
- __ Poncho - Doubles as emergency tent/lean-to.
- __ Pants/Overalls, with belt
- __ Underwear - 2
- __ Shirt - 2 or 3 (one light, one flannel)
- __ Shoes, shower shoes, HIKING BOOTS
- __ Socks - 2 pair
- __ Work gloves & warm mittens/gloves
- __ Swim suit
Cooking
- __ Stove with fuel & lighters, (take a
couple of lighters, if you only have one
it will invariably get lost
or fall into a bucket or creek)
- __ Newspapers for lighting a campfire
- __ Firewood
- __ Charcoal or wood & Grill for BBQ.
- __ Frying Pan - Nonstick w/plastic spatula is nice.
- __ Cooking skewers (for hot dogs, s'mores, etc.)
- __ Pot or sauce pan - Big enough to cook noodles
for all. With lid.
- __ Can opener - If you have canned goods.
- __ Thermos
- __ Tongs
- __ Coffee maker & filters
- __ Pot lifter &/or pot holders
- __ Wine cork puller for those tres yup trips
- __ Tablecloth

Reusable
- __ Plate - Partition tray/plate is nice.
- __ Mug/cup - Sierra Club Cup or Coleman Mountain
Mug style
- __ Kitchen knife - Nice to have. In general, carry
a pocket knife.
- __ Small mixing bowls

- __ Scrub Pad

Consumables
- __ Paper towels & napkins
- __ Trash bags
- __ Paper plates, cups, bowls, etc.

Water
- __ At least 1/2 gallon per person/day.
- __ Water filters and purifiers if relying on
natural water sources.
- __ Water bottle, to carry while hiking
Food & Drink
- __ Pancake Mix - Bisquick, 1/2 cup per person per
day (need large skillet)
- __ Cooking Oil - About 1 oz per person per day.
- __ Syrup - About 2 oz per person per day.
- __ Butter - 1/2 stick per person per day.
- __ Malt-o-meal, or Cream of…{wheat, rice, ...}
- __ Oatmeal - Instant single serving packs
- __ Potatoes - 1-2 per person per day. Freeze dried
if packing.
- __ Bacon - 2 slices per person per day.
- __ Eggs - 1-2 per person per day, fresh or
powdered.
- __ Noodles - Spaghetti, Angel Hair, Ramen, or
shells.
- __ Spaghetti Sauce - In cans, jars or dehydrated
- __ Parmesan cheese
- __ Bouillon cubes - Chicken & Vegetable
- __ Rice packages
- __ Soup/Chili - mix or cans
- __ Tuna - Don't forget Mayo, pickles, and onions
- __ Onions, lemons, mushrooms, etc.
- __ Bread - One or two loaves per day if camping
with a small group.
- __ Dry condiments - Salt, Pepper, Spices, Sugar
- __ Catsup
- __ Mustard
- __ Mayo - Small jar
- __ Salami, Bologna &/or other luncheon meats
- __ Cheese - Cheddar, Swiss
- __ Fruit - Small fruit cups or fresh fruit
- __ Veggies - 2 to 3 carrot/celery sticks per person
